Abstract

|
Congnital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis is the disease of newborn and considered as one of the commonest surgical disease in this age group. In 1912, Ramstedt described an operative procedure, the operaiton which has proved to be curative and accepted the world over as a procedure of choice.
diagnosis usually being made with the palpable mass in the right upper quadrant and history of projectile vomiting without bile in the vomitus.
This report consist of six cases of congenital hypertrophic pyloric steaosis which has been treated with Ramstedt operation at Severance Hospital since 1966 with satisfactory result.
